...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Atlantic Waters of Puerto Rico AND USVI from 10 NM to 19.5N...
  Caribbean Waters of Puerto Rico from 10 NM to 17N, including the
  Coastal Waters of Saint Croix...
  Coastal Waters east of Puerto Rico, around Vieques, and around and
  just north of Culebra and Saint John...
  Coastal Waters from Cabo San Juan to the waters between Anegada
  Island and Virgin Gorda and North 10 NM...
  Coastal Waters of Northern Puerto Rico out 10 NM...

At 722 AM AST, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were
located over mainly areas of the Atlantic Waters and surrounding
waters near the northern U.S. Virgin Islands, moving northwest at 10
knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek
safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.

Intense lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.

Report severe weather to the Coast Guard or nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
forecast office.
