...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN CHRISTIAN...
NORTHEASTERN STONE...EAST CENTRAL LAWRENCE AND GREENE COUNTIES
THROUGH 945 PM CDT...

At 912 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 7 miles east of Mount Vernon to near Republic
to near Highlandville. Movement was northeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Springfield, Nixa, Ozark, Republic, Battlefield, Willard,
Rogersville, Strafford, Clever, Sparta, Ash Grove, Billings,
Highlandville, Fremont Hills, Brookline, Halltown, Chesapeake,
Glidewell, Turners, and Bois D`arc.

This includes Interstate 44 between mile markers 57 and 86.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
