Much warmer conditions arrive Thursday and Friday as a strong ridge builds closer to the region. Expect heat to peak over the weekend, with steadily declining afternoon humidities toward critical thresholds. Also expect poor humidity recoveries under strong inversions. While some slight cooling is possible early next week with a return of onshore flow, temperatures likely remain above normal well into next week with no precipitation expected through the week ahead.
