SOUTHWESTERN HARNETT...NORTHWESTERN CUMBERLAND AND NORTHEASTERN HOKE COUNTIES THROUGH 415 PM EDT... At 338 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Pope AFB, or over Fort Liberty, moving northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Fayetteville, Fort Liberty, Pope AFB, Hope Mills, Spring Lake, Pineview, Rockfish, and Bonnie Doone. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
