Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest and South-Central
Arizona and Southeast California
National Weather Service Phoenix AZ
241 AM MST Mon Jul 15 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Monsoonal moisture in place will continue to result in daily
thunderstorm activity. Activity both today and tomorrow will be
confined mainly to the AZ high terrain as well as across the
southern CA mountains. The biggest hazard with these storms will
continue to be outflow winds, which will generate sudden
directional shifts and strong gusts. Aside from the thunderstorm
winds, general winds will follow the typical diurnal pattern with
afternoon gusts between 20-25 mph. MinRH values today will range
between 20-30% area wide, decreasing slightly on Tuesday with
good overnight recoveries.

...Thunderstorms imply gusty winds...
