Routine Fire Wx Fcst (With/Without 6-10 Day Outlook)
Issued by NWS Portland, OR
Issued by NWS Portland, OR
914 FNUS56 KPQR 072157 FWFPQR Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NW Oregon and SW Washington National Weather Service Portland OR 257 PM PDT Sun Jul 7 2024 .DISCUSSION...Strong high pressure aloft will maintain very hot and dry conditions for inland areas through Tuesday. Thermal low pressure will strengthen over western Oregon, enhancing instability Monday and especially Tuesday, mainly over the higher Cascades as these elevations will be poking above a stable layer. This may result in some cumulus buildups along the Cascade crest Tuesday afternoon, however conditions appear too dry for showers or thunderstorms to develop. Thermal low pressure shifts east of the Cascades Tuesday night, bringing stable onshore flow, relatively cooler temperatures, and higher RH Wednesday and beyond. Very hot days will make conditions dangerous for anyone working outside. Those who must work outdoors should take frequent breaks and remain as hydrated as possible.
