The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Coastal waters from Sandy Hook to Little Egg Inlet NJ out 20 nm...

* Until 400 PM EDT.

* At 258 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing
  waterspouts was located over Axel Carlson Reef, moving east at 15
  knots.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly
           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  Sea Girt Reef, Shark River Reef, Point Pleasant Beach, Manasquan
  Inlet, Axel Carlson Reef, Silverton, and Lavallette.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the
open water, stay below deck if possible and keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
