At 1031 PM EDT, gauge reports indicated that the in Christina River at Coochs Bridge is in flood stage due to earlier thunderstorms that produced heavy rain. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen across the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Gauges reported. IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas. Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Wilmington, Newark, Middletown, Pennsville, New Castle, Delaware City, Newport, Saint Georges, Bear, Mount Pleasant, Port Penn and Glasgow.
