Dry west winds gusting to up to 40 mph will occur Tuesday afternoon around Wenatchee, Waterville, and Vantage. There is a 20 to 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms around Metaline, Bonners Ferry, Sandpoint, and Clark Fork Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. Brief heavy rain and lightning will accompany these storms. The Fourth of July will be warm and dry with relatively light winds.
