Maximum sustained winds are 140 kt with gusts to 175 kt. Minimum central pressure is 938 mb. Tropical storm force winds, squalls and thunderstorms, and very large seas will continue to impact the local Caribbean waters and Mona Passage through tonight. Beryl will continue to move W-NW across the Caribbean and begin to slowly weaken, reaching near 17.2N 75W Wed morning, and into the Yucatan Peninsula near 20N 88.2W Fri morning. Meanwhile, for the Atlantic waters moderate to fresh winds will prevail through Fri, diminishing somewhat Fri night through Sat. Seas to 9 ft there will subside by the end of the week. Conditions will improve in the Caribbean by the end of the week, in the wake of Beryl, and a wind surge associated with AL96 occurring Wed and Thu.
