Maximum sustained winds are 135 kt with gusts to 165 kt. Minimum central pressure is 943 mb. Tropical storm force winds, squalls and thunderstorms, and very large seas will continue to impact the southwestern Caribbean waters and southern Mona Passage through this evening, before conditions begin to gradually improve tonight into Wed morning. Beryl will continue to move W-NW across the Caribbean and begin to slowly weaken, reaching the Yucatan Peninsula near 20.2N 88.5W Fri morning. Meanwhile, for the Atlantic waters fresh winds will prevail through Fri, diminishing somewhat Fri night through Sat. Seas to 9 ft there will subside by the end of the week. Conditions will improve in the Caribbean by the end of the week, in the wake of Beryl, and a wind surge associated with a strong tropical wave passing through the area Wed and Thu.
