.DISCUSSION...Low pressure currently whirling its way across
central Idaho is the driving force for developing shower and
thunderstorm activity across central Idaho and southwest Montana.
Showers and storms will extend north and east through this evening
as the low shuffles its way through the region. Local heavy rain
will occur with stronger storms. A few showers will linger across
the region tonight and Wednesday morning behind this system.

High pressure will give us a brief break in the action Wednesday
however another dynamic low pressure system will make its presence
known Thursday into Friday. This system will impact the entire
Northern Rockies with showers and thunderstorms Thursday and
Thursday night. Friday the focus of storms will be from west
central Montana throughout Northwest Montana and along the
Continental Divide. Widespread healthy rain amounts up to 1/2" will
occur across Northwest Montana with some areas along the divide
receiving locally higher amounts.

By Sunday the weather settles into a pattern with an upper low
circulating off of the Washington coast through the middle of next
week with strong high pressure holding on to a firm grip over the
central U.S. This will leave a general southwest flow. Whatever
moisture is available will be ushered our way. If pieces of energy
break away from the upper low off the coast then the Northern
Rockies will receive showers and thunderstorms. Just know it`s
tough to pick out those subtle features that will bring us such
convection a week or so out so stay tuned.

Temperatures will creep back up into the upper 80s Sunday through
the middle of next week.
