Minor erosional flood damage occurs to lowland and agricultural land adjacent to the river the Afton and Janesville areas. This level is the 20 percent chance flood meaning that there is a 20 percent chance in any given year of the river reaching this level. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 3:00 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 9.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 8.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 3:00 PM CDT Saturday was 9.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 9.9 feet this evening. - Flood stage is 9.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 9.9 feet on 03/12/1974. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood && River forecasts are available for some but not all river gaging locations.
