The combination of heat and humidity will produce heat index values between 100 and 105 degrees today. Anyone spending time outdoors should take precaution to mitigate heat related illnesses. A cold front will cross eastern NC late today into tomorrow. Along and ahead of the front, showers and thunderstorms could becoming strong to severe. Damaging wind gusts and localized flooding due to heavy rain will be the primary hazards. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.
