...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM TO 8 PM PDT
TUESDAY FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RH FOR FIRE ZONE 281...

While high pressure remains in control and produces continued hot
temperatures across the region, a weak trough will pass north
along the coast today. This will produce critical conditions with
stronger winds and low humidity in and around the Shasta Valley.
At the same time an isolated thunderstorm or two could pop up in
the northern part of the region this afternoon into early this
evening. Wednesday onward, we cool slightly and return to a more
dry and stable southwest flow.

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 11 PM
PDT THIS EVENING FOR ABUNDANT LIGHTNING ON DRY FUELS IN FIRE WEATHER
ZONE 285...

Thunderstorms will be a concern again today, with the best chance
for storms this afternoon into this evening. Storms will result in
little or no rain and will be high based. Also gusty and erratic
winds are a concern near storms. The threat for storms will shift
north of the area this evening. Dry and stable weather returns
Wednesday through Friday, although we`ll have the typical gusty
afternoon and early evening breezes with near critical conditions.
