While high pressure remains in control and produces continued hot temperatures across the region, a weak trough will pass north along the coast today. This will produce critical conditions with stronger winds and low humidity in and around the Shasta Valley. At the same time an isolated thunderstorm or two could pop up in the northern part of the region this afternoon into early this evening.
