Mid level ridging will strengthen over the area today allowing for
increasing subsidence. Coverage of storms will be much less and
remain confined to the Davis Mountains. Temperatures look pretty
similar to Thursday with highs generally around 100 degrees and
90s in the mountains. Some of the hottest temperatures (105+) look
to occur across the northeast Permian Basin so have issued a Heat
Advisory.

After a very mild night with lows in the mid to upper 70s for most,
it will be a hot start to the weekend. Very little changes with high
temperatures maybe a degree or so warmer and an isolated storm for
the Davis Mountains. Additional daily heat products are likely into
much of next week.

(Saturday night through Thursday)

Unfortunately, we are not seeing much in the way of relief next
week and ridging remains parked over the area. Temperatures change
very little day to day, although Tuesday/Wednesday stand out the
peak of this current heat wave. Widespread heat products are
likely and caution should be taken if you plan to be outside over
the next week. Heat has a cumulative effect on the body so make
sure to drink water and take plenty of breaks. PoPs will remain at
zero areawide as subsidence stays in full control.
