Showers and thunderstorms will be possible this evening across the far southwestern Texas Panhandle and South Plains this evening. A few storms may produce gusty winds and brief heavy rainfall. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday. Temperatures or heat index values near 105 degrees are possible across the far southeastern Texas Panhandle and portions of the Rolling Plains Thursday afternoon. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop along a cold front moving southward through the outlook area Thursday afternoon and evening. Some of the storms across the far Southern Texas Panhandle could produce wind gusts to 60 mph and small hail, while brief heavy rain, gusty winds and frequent lightning are possible elsewhere across the area. Mainly late-afternoon and evening thunderstorms will remain in the forecast Friday through Tuesday.
