...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT PORTIONS OF CENTRAL ST. JOHN THE
BAPTIST, NORTHWESTERN ST. CHARLES AND NORTHWESTERN JEFFERSON PARISHES
THROUGH 130 PM CDT
...

At 1254 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Hahnville, moving northeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Metairie, Hahnville, Laplace, Jefferson, Harahan, Norco, Paradis,
Montz, Luling, River Ridge, Boutte, Ama, Destrehan, Waggaman, Taft,
New Sarpy, St. Rose, Killona, Elmwood, and Bayou Gauche.

This includes the following Interstates...
 Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 211 and 228.
 Interstate 310 between mile markers 1 and 11.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
