298 FZUS61 KCLE 061350 GLFLE Open Lake Forecast for Lake Erie National Weather Service Cleveland OH 950 AM EDT Sat Jul 6 2024 For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Erie Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... A weak trough averaging 29.90 inches lingers over Lake Erie today before a ridge averaging 30.10 inches builds from the west tonight and persists through Sunday. The ridge then exits slowly eastward before a warm front sweeps northeastward across Lake Erie Monday night. A cold front should sweep southeastward across Lake Erie Tuesday night and stall near the Ohio Valley by Thursday. Behind the cold front, a weak ridge averaging 30.00 inches should build from northern Ontario and vicinity through Thursday. However, on Thursday, Tropical Cyclone Beryl`s remnant low may weaken to 29.80 inches and approach from the Mid Mississippi Valley and vicinity as the low moves along the aforementioned stalled front.
