.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 934 PM EDT Tue Aug 13 2024

Currently - A weak Atlantic ridge stretching across the Florida
Peninsula is resulting in light breezes. The combination of a deep
layered aligned over the Atlantic Coast and daytime heating,
winds range from northeast on our western reaches and east to
southeast off to the east. The weak steering flow in a seasonably
warm, moist, and unstable environment supported island cloud line
development and mainland outflows. With that said, convective
activity have run their course earlier in the evening and very
little is present within the forecast area. A broad swath of
enhanced lower level moisture remains across our area and there is
active convection up stream of our area working their way slowly
westward.

Short Term Update - Breezes will remain light and mostly out of
the east to southeast through the overnight due to ridging across
the Florida mainland. Expect continued warm and humid conditions
with temperatures bottoming out in the mid 80s with dew points
remaining in the upper 70s. Given the time of year, the enhanced
lower level moisture, and upstream activity, maintaining at least
chance PoPs is justified. No update planned for the overnight
period.
