...THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR EASTERN MARION COUNTY IS
CANCELLED...

The storms which prompted the warning have moved out of the warned
area. Therefore, the warning has been cancelled.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for
east central Kansas.

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 700 PM CDT
FOR NORTHERN CHASE COUNTY...

At 653 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 9 miles northwest of Cottonwood Falls to 5 miles north
of Strong City to 8 miles southwest of Americus to 8 miles southwest
of Emporia, moving northeast at 45 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Cottonwood Falls, Strong City, Elmdale, Tallgrass Prairie, and
Tallgrass Prairie Preserve.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
