Spotty hit-or-miss showers and thunderstorms impacted generally the
eastern half of Kansas Sunday. The primary threats were isolated
strong wind gusts and pockets of heavy rainfall. Daytime
temperatures reached the 80s and 90s across the state, although high
dewpoints supported heat indices near 100 degrees over mainly
southern Kansas.

Thunderstorm chances will continue regionwide tonight, with activity
likely most widespread later this evening and after midnight, as a
thunderstorm complex moves east to southeast off the High Plains.
The strongest activity will be capable of large hail, damaging
winds, and locally heavy rainfall and associated flooding concerns.
Forecast low temperatures are in the 60s and 70s, warmest over
southeast Kansas.

Shower and thunderstorm chances will persist across the area Monday
morning, with afternoon chances shifting mainly into far southern
Kansas and Oklahoma in vicinity of a cold front moving south.
Isolated strong wind gusts and pockets of heavy rainfall are
expected. Forecast high temperatures will be a bit cooler in the 80s
to near 90 degrees.
