Issued at 302 AM CDT Fri Jul 5 2024 A stable post-frontal regime is anticipated across the area today. Much drier air will advect southward with afternoon dewpoint temperatures in the 50s for many areas. Below normal temperatures will prevail with highs in the mid and upper 80s. Sat-Sun...A shortwave trough will bring a chance of storms back to central KS on Saturday but low level moisture will be slow to recover with the quality low level moisture remaining well south of the region. Storm coverage is expected to be higher just west of our area although some low pops were maintained with increasing probabilities arriving Sat night into Sunday as a mean mid/upper trough remains situated over the Central and Northern Plains. Deep layer shear around 50 kts may support some storm organization late Sat, especially west of I-135 Sat evening/night. Locally heavy rain could develop on Sunday as PWATs climb to around 2 inches over southern Kansas. Mon-Thu...Unsettled weather may linger into early next week, especially across eastern Kansas as a pv anomaly pivots over the area.
