At 1215 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking several clusters of strong thunderstorms in the advisory area moving southward at 20 mph. The most intense cell was located over Sylvania, or 7 miles northeast of Rainsville, with additional strong storms located about 5 miles southeast of Langston and about 5 miles southwest of Fort Payne. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 35-45 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Fort Payne, Rainsville, Henagar, Crossville, Sylvania, Fyffe, Powell, Geraldine, Section, and Valley Head. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
