...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTH CENTRAL TRANSYLVANIA...
NORTHWESTERN GREENVILLE...NORTHWESTERN PICKENS AND NORTHEASTERN
OCONEE COUNTIES THROUGH 500 PM EDT...

At 437 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 12
miles northwest of Pickens, or 4 miles north of Jocassee Gorges,
moving east at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Jocassee Gorges, Lake Jocassee, Devils Fork State Park, Gorges State
Park, Keowee Toxaway State Park, Table Rock State Park, Caesars Head
State Park, Lake Keowee, Pumpkintown, and Rocky Bottom.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
