439 WGUS83 KGRR 290754 FLSGRR Flood Advisory National Weather Service Grand Rapids MI 354 AM EDT Sat Jun 29 2024 MIC005-015-077-081-139-159-291545- /O.NEW.KGRR.FA.Y.0006.240629T0754Z-240629T1545Z/ /00000.N.ER.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.OO/ Allegan MI-Barry MI-Kalamazoo MI-Kent MI-Ottawa MI-Van Buren MI- 354 AM EDT Sat Jun 29 2024 ...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1145 AM EDT THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southwest Michigan, including the following counties, Allegan, Barry, Kalamazoo, Kent, Ottawa and Van Buren. * WHEN...Until 1145 AM EDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 346 AM EDT, Radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. - The first round of showers and thunderstorms produced 0.5 to 1.5 inches of rain. A second round of storms was moving in as of 346 am. These storms could generate another 1.0 to locally 2.0 inches of rain. This will likely lead to urban and poor drainage flooding. Rises can be expected on the area small rivers and streams including the Macatawa, Rabbit, Buck and Plaster basins. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Grand Rapids, Holland, Grand Haven, Hastings, Allegan, South Haven, Wyoming, Kentwood, Walker, Grandville, East Grand Rapids, Hudsonville, Zeeland, Coopersville, Wayland, Otsego, Plainwell, Lowell, Middleville and Ferrysburg. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
