Regional Weather Summary for the High Plains

The overnight hours have seen storms move across East-Central
Colorado and West-Central Kansas with cloud cover slowly
increasing elsewhere. Temperatures as of midnight ranged from 61
in Wray, Colorado to 72 in Tribune, Kansas. Winds were either calm
or from the east at 10 mph.

OUTLOOK... A fairly active day is forecast today with chances for
showers and storms through most of the day. Areas that see the sun
break through the clouds are forecast to warm into the mid to
upper 80`s while those who remain cloud covered will likely warm
to near 80. The storms this afternoon may become severe with large
hail, damaging winds, and a tornado or two possible. Tonight,
skies are forecast to clear through the night, though there could
be another round of storms that develops and moves in from Western
Nebraska. Temperatures are forecast to cool into the 50`s and
60`s. For Independence Day, mostly sunny skies are forecast with
mild temperatures around 80. Winds are forecast to be a bit breezy
from the north with gusts up to 40 mph. There is a very low chance
for a storm or two during the evening around the Colorado border.
