At 331 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated the heavy rainfall from thunderstorms has ended across the warned area. However, flash flooding is still expected as water drains. Between 1.25 and 2.75 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life-threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Life-threatening flash flooding of low-water crossings, creeks, normally dry washes and roads. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Chino Valley and Prescott Valley. This includes State Route 89A between mile markers 325 and 328. This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Agua Fria River and Winters Wash. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Flooding of washes and creeks will occur, some dirt roads will become muddy and impassable. Paved roads and underpasses could become flooded as well. Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. Normally dry washes, slot canyons, and creeks can become raging killer currents in a matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall. Stay away or be swept away!
