Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Wyoming/Western Nebraska
National Weather Service CHEYENNE WY
140 PM MDT Tue Jul 2 2024

...ELEVATED TO NEAR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS EXPECTED FOR
AREAS ALONG AND WEST OF INTERSTATE 25 IN SOUTHEAST WYOMING
WEDNESDAY...

.DISCUSSION...A much drier airmass is moving east across southeast
Wyoming and the southern Nebraska Panhandle this afternoon. With
increasing winds on Wednesday, a few areas along and east of
Interstate 25 may see critical fire weather conditions for a couple
of hours. A Red Flag Warning may be needed, but confidence remains
low to moderate with timing and coverage at this time. Otherwise,
cool temperatures and higher daytime relative humidities
(30% or higher) are expected later this week, including Independence
Day. Very good humidity recoveries (80-90 percent) are also expected
Thursday and Friday night.
