Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service State College PA
539 AM EDT Thu Jul 4 2024

High pressure pushing off the East Coast will produce a southerly
flow of warmer and more humid air across the Keystone state for
the Fourth of July and into the holiday weekend.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop today over much
of the Commonwealth as a front drops slowly southeastward. A few
storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rainfall, especially
across southern Pennsylvania. Heat index values will reach the
mid to upper 90s in the valleys of south- central and southeastern
Pennsylvania.

The frontal boundary will remain draped across the area Friday
into Saturday, maintaining a daily chance of showers and storms.
Heat index values will approach 100 degrees in southeast PA on
Friday and Saturday. The front should clear the area by Sunday,
with slightly lower humidity expected.
