220 WGUS82 KCHS 020543 FLSCHS Flood Advisory National Weather Service Charleston SC 143 AM EDT Tue Jul 2 2024 SCC019-029-020745- /O.EXT.KCHS.FA.Y.0034.000000T0000Z-240702T0745Z/ /00000.N.ER.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.OO/ Charleston SC-Colleton SC- 143 AM EDT Tue Jul 2 2024 ...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 345 AM EDT EARLY THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of southeast South Carolina, including the following counties, Charleston and Colleton. * WHEN...Until 345 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 143 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2.5 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Edisto Beach, Johns Island, Folly Beach, Seabrook Island, Kiawah Island, Rockville, Edisto Island, Edisto Beach State Park and Beachwalker Park. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
