604 WGUS82 KCHS 012136 FLSCHS Flood Advisory National Weather Service Charleston SC 536 PM EDT Mon Jul 1 2024 SCC019-020030- /O.NEW.KCHS.FA.Y.0033.240701T2136Z-240702T0030Z/ /00000.N.ER.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.OO/ Charleston SC- 536 PM EDT Mon Jul 1 2024 ...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM EDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast South Carolina, including the following county, Charleston. * WHEN...Until 830 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 533 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Very intense rainfall is impacting much of western Charleston County including areas from around North Charleston, West Ashley, Johns Island, Ravenel, to around Jacksonboro. Rainfall rates of 2 to 3 inches per hour will be possible, with additional rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches possible into the early evening hours. Some minor flooding along area roadways can be expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... North Charleston, Hanahan, Johns Island, West Ashley, I-26/I-526 Interchange, James Island, Downtown Charleston, Hollywood, Ravenel and Meggett. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
