.SYNOPSIS...
High pressure will crest over the area today then move east
Wednesday. A warm front will cross the region Wednesday night.
A weak cold front will cross the region later Thursday into
Thursday night. High pressure will cross the region Friday. A
warm front will cross the region Saturday.

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
10:25 AM Update...No significant changes needed to the forecast
with high pressure in control across Northern New England
bringing pleasant weather conditions. Made just some minor
adjustments for thin cirrus drifting sewd from Quebec into far
northwestern Maine late this morning per GOES-16 imagery this AM.
Will see some periods of thin cirrus across the region through
the afternoon hours today. The surface high pressure system
cresting over the area today will bring a mostly sunny and warm
day with inland highs cresting in the low to mid 80s. Soundings
indicate there could be a few bubbly cumulus clouds during the
afternoon, especially over the western and central highlands.
Otherwise the day should remain mostly sunny across the area.

High pressure will remain over the area tonight bringing a
mostly clear night with the air cooling into the mid 50s. Some
high clouds may begin to stray into the area from the west late
at night ahead of a weak trough of low pressure beginning to
approach from the Great Lakes region. Isolated patchy valley
and river fog will be possible late at night as the air chills.

.SHORT TERM /WEDNESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/...
High pressure will begin to exit across the Maritimes
Wednesday. Across northern areas, expect a partly sunny morning
with clouds then increasing during the afternoon. Expect partly
sunny skies Downeast Wednesday. A warm front will lift across
the region Wednesday night. Expect mostly cloudy skies along
with a chance of showers across northern areas Wednesday night,
with increasing clouds along with a slight chance of showers
Downeast. A weak cold front will begin to cross the region
Thursday. Expect a chance of showers, with a slight chance of
thunderstorms, across northern areas Thursday. Expect a slight
chance of showers Downeast. Otherwise, expect mostly
cloudy/partly sunny skies Thursday morning then partly sunny
during the afternoon. The cold front will exit across the Gulf
of Maine Thursday night, with high pressure then building
toward the region late. Could still have a slight chance/chance
of showers early Thursday night. Otherwise, expect partly cloudy
skies Thursday night. Temperatures will be at slightly above
normal levels Wednesday/Thursday.

.LONG TERM /THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY/...
High pressure will cross the region Friday with partly cloudy
skies, with only a slight chance of showers. Low pressure
tracking northeast from the Great Lakes will draw a warm front
across the region Saturday into Saturday night. Expect a chance
of showers, along with a slight chance of thunderstorms, with
the warm front. A cold front will cross the region Sunday with
a chance of showers, along with a slight chance of
thunderstorms. High pressure should then cross the region
Monday. Near normal, to slightly above normal, level
temperatures are expected Friday through Monday.

.AVIATION /18Z TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...
VFR conditions are expected to continue through the TAF period
with just scattered daytime fair weather cumulus clouds
(SCT050-060) and some passing high clouds thru 18Z Wednesday. No
precipitation is expected. Winds generally N-NE 5-10kts through
early this evening, becoming light and variable after sunset as
high pressure builds overhead. Winds becoming S-SE 5-10kts
toward late morning/early afternoon Wednesday as ridge axis
shifts to our east. No sig wx expected.

OUTLOOK: Slight chance of showers with VFR/MVFR conditions on
Thursday with winds becoming S-SW. Chances for marine stratus and
fog increase at BHB during Thursday night through mid-morning
Friday. Showers and thunderstorms are possible over the upcoming
weekend with brief intervals of MVFR/IFR conditions possible at
the TAF locations.

.MARINE...
NEAR TERM: Wind and seas will be below SCA today and tonight.
Seas will average 2 to 3 ft across the offshore waters. Humid
air over the cooler waters may produce a bit of light fog or
mist.

SHORT TERM: Winds/seas below small craft advisory levels
Wednesday through Thursday night. A slight chance of showers
Thursday into Thursday night.
