Temperatures and moisture gradually increase starting Wednesday through the end of the week when heat and humidity will be a main concern once again. With the increased moisture, isolated to scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms return to the region. Even though some of the area received some much needed rain over the past several days, the area remains dry overall due to a lack of a widespread wetting rain. Because of this, fire weather concerns remain high and are expected to continue to increase through the week, especially with the Independence Day celebrations coming up. Fog potential for tonight: Patchy fog possible, mainly in the southern Midlands and CSRA.
