Issued by NWS Columbia, SC
671 FNUS52 KCAE 030750 FWFCAE Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina and East Central Georgia National Weather Service Columbia SC 350 AM EDT Wed Jul 3 2024 .DISCUSSION... Temperatures and moisture gradually increase starting Wednesday through the end of the week when heat and humidity will be a main concern once again. With the increased moisture, isolated to scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms return to the region. Min RH values should rise from the 38-42% range this afternoon to 45-50% by late this week. Overnight RH recovery should improve from the past couple of nights as dewpoints rise. Despite many areas seeing heavy rain this past weekend, fire concerns are still elevated as antecedent conditions remain dry. Fog potential for tonight: Patchy fog possible, mainly in the southern Midlands and CSRA.
