Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
218 PM EDT Wed Jul 3 2024

.DISCUSSION...
An upper ridge remains in control of the region on Independence
Day. The ridge will combine with high pressure off the coast to
produce warmer temperatures and higher RH values. However, it
still looks like a mainly dry day with the best chance for
isolated showers and thunderstorms across the CSRA during the
afternoon and evening hours. The increase in temperatures and
moisture continues through Friday. Despite the expected rise in
moisture across the forecast area, much of the region remains in
drought conditions resulting in increased fire danger.

Fog potential for tonight: Areas of fog possible, mainly in the
southeastern Midlands and CSRA.
