Daytime mixing will produce locally breezy west winds in the high country this afternoon, with gusts 25-30 mph. These areas will see minimum relative humidity values mainly in the 15-20% range, resulting in elevated fire weather conditions. Recent wetting rains across the majority of the forecast zones will however limit the criticality of conditions. These elevated fire weather concerns will extend into the foothills and plains, where minimum humidity may locally approach 10%. However, light winds, as well as recent rainfall, will also limit concerns for those zones. LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Saturday through Tuesday... The warmest and driest conditions of the week are forecast on Saturday as a ridge builds over the region, with temperatures in the mid to upper 90s across the plains while minimum humidity falls to as low as 10-15%. Warm weather will continue through next week, but an increase in moisture should keep humidity above 20% for a majority of the region. The better moisture will also lead to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms from Sunday into next week, with modest chances for wetting rain. Winds will generally be light underneath the persistent ridge.
