Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO
309 PM MDT Tue Jul 2 2024

.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Wednesday...
Warmer and drier overall Wednesday. A boundary sets up across the
plains with more moist air on the east side of it and drier to
the west. Min relative humidity values drops into the 13-25
percent range across the urban corridor and higher elevations.
Marginally breezy conditions may result in periods of elevated
fire weather conditions in the mentioned dry areas. Smoke
dispersal Very Good to Excellent.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Wednesday night through Sunday...A cold
front will usher in cooler temperatures and higher relative
humidities for the foothills and eastern plains Thursday, the 4th
of July. Park county could approach Red Flag conditions (wind to
25 mph & relative humidities in the teens), if the cooler air
doesn`t make it into Park county. The mountains and mountain
valley are expected to see breezy conditions Thursday. Friday will
be similar but with weaker winds across the area. Chances for
showers and thunderstorms will be very low both Thursday and
Friday. Mainly dry conditions are expected this weekend and early
next week. Winds may be breezy at times over the higher terrain.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                    shown in those groups...
