Routine Fire Wx Fcst (With/Without 6-10 Day Outlook)
Issued by NWS Denver/Boulder, CO
Issued by NWS Denver/Boulder, CO
011 FNUS55 KBOU 020904 FWFBOU Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO 304 AM MDT Tue Jul 2 2024 .DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...Drier conditions are expected today, with elevated fire weather conditions possible near the Cheyenne Ridge this afternoon. Relative humidity will fall to as low as 15% this afternoon, though most of the area will be in the 20-30% range. Breezy conditions will continue across the higher elevations today. A few storms are possible across Lincoln county this afternoon, with little precipitation elsewhere. Smoke dispersal should be good to excellent across the region. LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Wednesday through Saturday...There will be elevated fire weather conditions across much of the higher terrain on Wednesday and Thursday. Minimum relative humidity will be in the teens with gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon. The worst fire weather conditions during the long term period will be on Thursday in South Park. Winds gusting to 30 mph will be possible with humidity as low as 10 percent. Highlights may be needed for fore weather zone 214 on Thursday. For fireworks on the evening of the Fourth of July, there may be breezy conditions with gusts up to 25 mph across the plains and urban corridor. However, temperatures will be on the cooler side for July so relative humidity will be above 30 percent. There may be daily areas of elevated fire weather conditions that develop across the higher terrain Friday through the weekend. It does not appear that critical fire weather conditions will develop at this time. Smoke dispersal will be very good to excellent all days. ...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds... ...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds... ...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid... ...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone groups and may not match the actual forecast values shown in those groups...
