...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Iowa...

  Cedar River at Charles City affecting Floyd County.

.The Cedar River in Charles City is currently cresting and starts to
fall on Thursday. There is a 10-20% chance that rainfall on Thursday
could result in renewed rises on the Cedar River, but the more
probable scenario is that the rate of fall slows due to any rain
rather than there being a second crest.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL LATE TOMORROW EVENING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Cedar River at Charles City.

* WHEN...Until late tomorrow evening.

* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Barricading of streets begins, and the
  intersection of Riverside and North Illinois Streets may be
  flooded. Cable pedestrian bridge is closed.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 6:30 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 12.5 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 6:30 PM CDT Wednesday was 12.5 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    late tomorrow morning and continue falling to 4.3 feet
    Wednesday, July 10.
  - Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    12.5 feet on 03/12/1997.
