454 FNAK53 PAFG 031711 AAA FWFAFG Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Interior Alaska...UPDATED National Weather Service Fairbanks AK 911 AM AKDT Wed Jul 3 2024 .DISCUSSION...A wet, rainy and breezy pattern will begin today as a front from northwest to southeast this afternoon. Wetting rains are likely with most locations receiving 0.10-0.25" of rain this afternoon except for the SE Interior and Yukon Flats where less than a tenth of an inch is more likely. The higher elevations in the Interior will likely see the heaviest rain around 0.50-1.00". Something not to be overlooked will be the strong southwest winds expected this afternoon. Wind advisories have been issued from Fairbanks north and east. Wind gusts upwards of 45 mph are expected from the White Mountains northward while wind gusts up to 40 mph are expected to be from Ester east to Fairbanks and Eielson.
