...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT WEST CENTRAL TAOS AND EAST
CENTRAL RIO ARRIBA COUNTIES THROUGH 145 PM MDT...

At 119 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles southeast of Tres Piedras, or 17 miles southwest of Questa,
moving south at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of west central Taos
and east central Rio Arriba Counties.

This includes the following highways...
 Highway 285 between Mile Markers 356 and 383.
 Highway 64 between Mile Markers 223 and 243.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If threatening weather approaches your area, take shelter in a sturdy
building.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor your preferred
media outlets and NOAA Weather Radio for additional information and
possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
