The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  North Central Socorro County in central New Mexico...

* Until 530 PM MDT.

* At 230 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain moving slowly northeast across the warned area. Up to
  0.5 inches of rain have fallen over parts of the area. Additional
  rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area,
  including the Interstate 25 corridor. Flash flooding is ongoing or
  expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  San Acacia, Lemitar, La Joya and Chamizal.

This includes the following highways...
Highway 60 between Mile Markers 122 and 124.
Interstate 25 between Mile Markers 153 and 172.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Do not enter or cross flowing water or water of unknown depth.
