much of Eastern Oklahoma.

AREA AT GREATEST RISK...Along and South of I-40.

DISCUSSION...
A weak frontal boundary will slowly advance southward through the
area today. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to
continue developing in the vicinity of the frontal boundary. A
few storms may become strong or marginally severe, though severe
thunderstorm probabilities are low. Locally heavy rainfall will be
possible as well.

Dangerously hot and humid conditions will occur along and south
of the frontal boundary this afternoon, where heat indices are
expected to climb into the 105 to 115 degree range through the
early evening hours, especially in areas outside of any
thunderstorm development. The warmest heat index values will be
across southeast Oklahoma and west central Arkansas.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...Widespread dangerously hot and humid
conditions will quickly return through the first half of the
upcoming week. Thunderstorm chances increase again just in time
for the Independence Day holiday and will persist into next
weekend.
