The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a Red Flag Warning for gusty winds and low humidity, which is in effect from 11 PM Monday to 8 PM PDT Wednesday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * Winds...Northerly wind 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Strongest wind gusts Tuesday morning and along the western half of the Sacramento Valley into the eastern Coast Range. * Humidity...Minimum relative humidity of 5 to 15 percent. Nighttime humidity recoveries will also be very poor in the 15 to 25 percent range. * Highest Threat...Northern Sacramento Valley, especially west of the Interstate 5 corridor and elevations below 3000 feet. * Impacts...The combination of gusty winds and low humidity can cause fire to rapidly grow in size and intensity. Outdoor burning is not recommended. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior. && $$ http://weather.gov/sacramento
