...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 515 PM MDT THIS
AFTERNOON FOR NORTH CENTRAL GARFIELD AND SOUTH CENTRAL WAYNE
COUNTIES...

At 453 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across portions of Capitol Reef National Park. Park Rangers
have reported Flash Flooding in Pleasant Creek. Between 1.00 and
1.50 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
         flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
         urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include the
following slot canyons and dry washes in Capitol Reef National Park,
Arch Nemesis Canyon, Capitol Gorge, Pleasant Creek, Burro Wash,
Cottonwood Wash, Five Mile Wash, Sheets Gulch, Red Canyon and Upper
Muley Twist Canyon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. Dry
washes, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a
matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.
