The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Southeastern Crawford County in southeastern Kansas...
  Southwestern Barton County in southwestern Missouri...
  Northwestern Jasper County in southwestern Missouri...

* Until 700 PM CDT.

* At 620 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Mindenmines,
  or near Pittsburg, moving southeast at 15 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Pittsburg, Prairie State Park, Jasper, Alba, Purcell, Chicopee,
  Nashville, Mindenmines, Carytown, Asbury, Neck City, Waco, and
  Opolis.

This includes Interstate 49 between mile markers 51 and 58.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of nature`s leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
