Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western Washington
National Weather Service Seattle WA
304 PM PDT Thu Jul 4 2024

...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON FRIDAY TO 10 PM PDT MONDAY FOR
PORTIONS OF WESTERN WASHINGTON...
...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY
EVENING FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 658 AND 659...

.DISCUSSION...Onshore flow will weaken as a stout upper-level ridge
amplifies over the region starting today. Hot and continued dry
weather will take shape. These factors along with rapidly drying
fuels and critical minimum RH values will lead to elevated fire
weather conditions this holiday weekend and possibly into early next
week. Because of this we`ve issued a fire weather watch for zones 658
and 659. The return of onshore flow will arrive Sunday night into
Monday. It`ll bring decent RH recoveries to fire zones such as 650
and 652 but won`t be strong enough to completely limit the threat for
the Cascades through Tuesday.

Forecast for 20 foot wind speed (valleys and ridge tops) are 10
 minute averages reflecting RAWS winds.
