...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 230 AM EDT SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of north central North Carolina, including the
  following counties, Stokes and Surry and southwest Virginia,
  including the following counties, Carroll and Patrick.

* WHEN...Until 230 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1124 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Ararat River, Archies Creek and Big Creek.
    Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
