Discussion for Susanville and Quincy
225 PM PDT Mon Jul 1 2024

Locally breezy north winds and low humidity may result in a short
period of near critical fire weather through mid evening, mainly
across northwest NV where a few lightning strikes occurred late
Sunday. Otherwise, an extended period of above-normal heat and
very dry conditions with poor overnight recoveries develops mid-
week through the weekend. An Excessive Heat Watch is in effect for
Washoe County from Saturday into early next week.

Discussion for Camino

Plan on elevated to critical fire weather conditions for portions
of the Sacramento Valley late tonight into Wednesday. Strong high
pressure over the region this week brings an extended period of
very hot temperatures, extremely dry conditions with poor
overnight recoveries, and typical afternoon breezes.

An extended period of above-normal heat is expected through this
weekend, with temperatures well into the triple digits in the
Owens Valley. Expect very dry conditions with poor overnight
recoveries to develop by mid-week, persisting through the
weekend.
